What is Lymphatic Filariasis?

A detrimental health infection that is common place with everybody and when left "unchecked", is deadly. Lymphatic filariasis, also known as elephantiasis, is a parasitic disease caused by thread-like worms called filariae. These worms are transmitted to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes. The disease is caused primarily by three species of filarial worms: Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori.

Here's a brief overview of the condition, along with our take at the detox guy...

1. Symptoms and Effects:

- Acute Phase: Symptoms can include fever, pain, and swelling of the affected limbs. This stage is often associated with episodes of acute lymphangitis (inflammation of the lymphatic vessels) and lymphadenitis (inflammation of the lymph nodes).

This is very correct. Don't forget about internal tissues. These are what is really causing the limbs to swell, it is all the internal tissue. One of the things the lymphatic system does is"drains" the body. As this disease attacks the lymphatic system it effectively disables body drainage over time, quickly, slower in some. This leads to swelling, infection in the internal tissue which is the fever, pain and swelling you get.

- Chronic Phase: Long-term infection can lead to severe complications, including lymphedema (swelling due to fluid accumulation) and hydrocele (fluid buildup in the scrotum in men). Over time, this can cause thickening and hardening of the skin and underlying tissues, leading to the characteristic disfigurement often associated with the disease, such as in elephantiasis.

This is where you really see the elephantiasis as the underlying cellular structure is quite compromised and swollen. Anything that is swollen will not heal unless the infection goes away and the area or affected part of the body needs to "drain". As this shows in skin texture as well it indicates the skin cannot get access to hydration as the lymph fluid cannot flow through the lymphatic system at this point... Swelling in the limbs has stopped proper circulation.

2. Transmission: The disease is spread through mosquito bites, primarily by species such as Culex, Anopheles, and Aedes. The mosquito becomes infected by biting a person with the larvae of the filarial worms in their blood. The larvae then mature into adult worms in the mosquito and are transmitted to a new host when the mosquito feeds again.

Quite correct, no problem with this statement here. Mosquitos transmit it. Just like the ones in Canada, the US, NA, the tropics...

3. Diagnosis: Diagnosis is typically made through blood tests that detect microfilariae (the larval stage of the worm) or through imaging techniques and clinical examination.

4. Treatment: Treatment often involves medications such as diethylcarbamazine (DEC), ivermectin, and albendazole, which kill the microfilariae and help reduce the symptoms and complications of the disease. In chronic cases, managing lymphedema and other complications may require additional medical care and interventions.

Treatment is correct as per CDC, Cleveland Clinic in Ohio (main medical facility in the state of Ohio), Ivermectin has been heard of and also as per National Institute of Health, NIH, it is a safe drug. As for lymphedema and managing this and other conditions which arise, this is quite correct as well. If this reaches an advanced stage, it is deadly. Skin outbreaks indicate an advanced stage and it this point it can be quite deadly depending on the severity of these outbreaks... Are they on your whole body? 1/2 your body, various areas on your body?

5. Prevention: Preventive measures include controlling mosquito populations, using insect repellent, and wearing protective clothing. In some regions, mass drug administration programs are used to reduce the prevalence of the disease.

Sure you can lessen the chance of the spread of this. But you cannot prevent it. It is already here in NA. It compromises your complete lymphatic system. Don't feel sick or like you have this. Do you do antibiotics for a cold? Do you have simple body aches some of the time, a headache. Everybody has this disease. It causes aging, and also disease that lead to degraded health conditions over time, even with the antibiotics. Antibiotics in our opinion only mask the symptom of this. The real key is to address the problem, balance the bug in your system so it is way less. You will never lose it. Manage it. Arthritis might comes to mind, obesity, skin conditions, etc might be indicators of long term exposure to this. Google 24 symptoms of a congested lymphatic system... Then think about disease. Any disease.

6. Impact: Lymphatic filariasis is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions, particularly in parts of Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. It can have significant social and economic impacts due to its disabling effects and the stigma associated with the disease.

Well, at the detox guy, we have to say this one is completely incorrect. According to our notes, and various google searches, documents from the CDC, a few other non-internet rabbit holes, this stuff is in NA. Not only that we believe, and have seen valid medical documents that indicate, it is in Canada and also has been here since the 1970s.

What does this mean for everyone:

Which means you have it. If it is transmitted by mosquitos, and also has been here since the early 70s. You keep it check with simple antibiotics, but as soon as you come off the course of them, bingo. The bug then starts to multiply again leading to decreased health over time. As the lymphatic system is not only the drainage system of the body, lymph fluid feeds your cells. Do you wash your dishes before eat off of them again. Of course! So think of your lymph fluid this way.... If you are obese, let's say, what does the lymph fluid look like that feeds your cellular structure? Let say you are normally 190 lbs but not that obese at 220 lbs... What does the lymph fluid that feels your entire cellular structure, all 70 to 120 trillion cells in your body look like? How health will your "complete" cellular structure be and maybe? feel? Can this cellular structure degrade over time if there is an underlying disease? Is this called aging? It is NOT blood that feeds the cellular structure or bathes the cells of your body in nutrients. Is is the lymph fluid and the blood proteins which get passed to the lymph fluid that feed your cells. So one could also say mobilizing the lymphatic system cleans the entire body, also un-thickens the blood.

Efforts to control and eliminate lymphatic filariasis are ongoing, with global health initiatives working towards reducing transmission and improving treatment and prevention strategies.
